Part 2 of a 2-Session NAWIC Firestarter Series
This in-person workshop builds on the concepts introduced in Session 1 and turns them into applied skills you can use on the job tomorrow. A short refresher will ensure new participants can easily join the conversation.
Through real construction-site scenarios, small-group practice, and simple tools you’ll learn how to:
- Respond to dismissive or intimidating behaviors
- Navigate microaggressions that undermine confidence
- Escalate concerns effectively and safely
- Support other women through allyship and informal networks
The session also introduces the “magic middle” of allyship and three practical micro-interventions, echoing, bridging, and buffering, that help create safer, more respectful jobsites.
Participants will leave with a personalized strategy, a simple formula for building new communication skills, and renewed confidence in keeping themselves and others safe.
