January - Psychological Safety: Your Voice, Your Safety, Your Power
Part 1 of a 2-Session NAWIC Firestarter Series
Psychological safety is more than a buzzword, it’s a core safety practice, especially in construction where risks are high, pressures are constant, and early warning signs too often go unreported.
In this interactive virtual session, participants will explore what psychological safety really means, why it breaks down, and how culture, hierarchy, and everyday interactions shape whether people feel able to speak up. We’ll review practical frameworks, examine common misconceptions, and discuss the unique pressures faced by women in construction.
You’ll also learn two simple communication tools that make speaking up - for yourself and others - clearer, safer, and more effective.
This session lays the groundwork for hands-on scenario practice in Part 2.
